Series background & context
Amore Matchmaking follows Pandora Pine's Lombardi brothers, whose family ties are inseparable from their romantic lives. The setting is coastal Maine, where an Italian restaurant helps hold the family together. Each brother has his own worries and hopes, but relatives are rarely far away when love becomes complicated. These are contemporary romances between men, with matchmaking, family obligations, and second chances giving the books their shared shape.
The family business also makes privacy something of a challenge.
In Shouting Match, Capone Lombardi has spent years putting other people first. After his father's death, he took on responsibilities for his mother, younger brothers, and the restaurant. His brother Brando decides that Capone needs help finding a partner and pairs him with Detective Fuller Sims. Unfortunately, the two men have already met under less promising circumstances: Fuller nearly arrested Capone after a speeding incident. Their introduction has plenty of friction before romance gets a chance to develop.
Fuller is forty and wants more than another brief encounter. Capone's packed life makes room for very little beyond work and family, so the match asks both men to reconsider their expectations. A winter storm on the Maine coast adds urgency to an already difficult start. The restaurant, meddling relatives, and weather give this opening romance a busy domestic setting. Attraction matters, but so does finding time and emotional space for another person when familiar responsibilities already fill the day.
Grudge Match shifts attention to Fiorello, known as Fio, and a relationship left unfinished. Fio hopes to turn a neighboring farm into an animal sanctuary. Seeking financial support brings him face to face with True Becker, his high school sweetheart, who is now working at the bank. Their history includes separation, rejection, and the influence of True's disapproving father. A business proposal therefore becomes tangled with questions neither man has fully put behind him.
That second romance gives the series another version of the same underlying problem: how do you build the life you want when family history keeps shaping your choices? Fio's sanctuary plans make that question practical as well as emotional. True has to consider what returning home means and whether he is repeating decisions that once hurt them both. Begin with Shouting Match, then move to Grudge Match and Love Match. Following the family from the first book gives the brothers' overlapping lives a clear introduction and keeps their different approaches to love in context.
