AL:ICE Books in Order

The AL:ICE books start with one big jolt. Marine veteran Jake Thomas volunteers for a DARPA experiment, wakes up in a devastated future Earth, and learns that humanity has lost far more than time. Much of the planet has been broken by invasion and collapse, and the thing that gives him a fighting chance is AL:ICE, an artificial life system that becomes guide, ally, and strategic brain all at once.

From there, the series grows fast. By the time you reach AL:ICE Alliance, AL:ICE Explorer, AL:ICE Avatar, and AL:ICE AI vs AL, the series is not just about fighting aliens. It is also asking what intelligence, control, and leadership look like when humans and artificial life are shaping the same future.

The cast expands along with the scale. Jake remains the center, but the books make more room for his inner circle, the growing human presence in space, and the families and crews affected by his decisions. That gives the series a slightly old-school space opera feel, where victories create fresh complications instead of neat endings.

Tone-wise, expect fast pacing, high stakes, and a practical streak. These books are less interested in abstract theory than in what people do when a damaged world still needs defending.
