Agent of the Confederation is a smaller branch of Brazee's broader future setting, but it moves in a different direction from his more straightforward combat series. The key figure is Titus Pohlmeyer, a young man who wants the clean version of military glory and instead gets shoved somewhere much murkier.

He begins in the infantry mindset. He wants to prove himself, serve well, and earn respect in a visible way. But Soldier quickly turns into something more complicated when Titus draws the attention of intelligence. Instead of only facing danger from an external enemy, he has to navigate corruption, hidden agendas, and people inside the system who are supposed to be on his side.

That shift changes the tone.

Brazee still writes with a servicemember's eye for rank, culture, and practical detail, but the tension here is less about holding a line under fire and more about surviving an institution that does not always want the truth exposed. Titus has to grow from a young man looking for battlefield heroics into someone who can do quieter, riskier work, the sort that does not always come with medals or public thanks.
