A Rosie Life In Italy Books in Order

After a rent increase in Ireland, Rosie moves her family and dogs to Italy in a camper van. Buying a derelict Umbrian villa brings family disputes, extreme weather and a pandemic into her search for a new home.

Rosie attempts to renovate a twenty-two-room Italian villa before Christmas Eve while the pandemic damages her business. When the project manager disappears, she takes charge with a translation app, confronting leaks, missing windows and an increasingly doubtful deadline.

Rosie’s elderly mother moves from Ireland to Umbria, bringing different tastes and a lively approach to life. With renovations still unfinished and twenty delayed weddings to organise, Rosie struggles to balance family demands with a recovering business.

Rosie races to make her Italian villa habitable before her elderly parents move in and her daughter visits. Building mishaps, mould and difficult bank negotiations make her question whether to persevere or abandon the dream and return to Ireland.

With her children abroad and renovation funds dwindling, Rosie questions the purpose of her enormous Italian home. Family illness, bereavement and her husband’s legal troubles compound the strain as she considers whether to sell and abandon her plans.

As their renovated villa nears completion, Rosie and Ronan consider opening it to guests and visit other lodgings for ideas. Workshops, retreats and continuing household chaos prompt Rosie to question what she wants from this next stage of life.

Hosting retreats and creative visitors brings fresh chaos to Rosie’s Italian home, alongside gardening problems, unexpected animals and persistent bureaucracy. Solo journeys to Ireland stir memories and difficult decisions as she reflects on grief, family and where she belongs.
