2 Sisters Detective Agency Books in Order

The 2 Sisters Detective Agency novels, co-written with James Patterson, introduce Rhonda Bird, a sharp-tongued Los Angeles defence lawyer who would rather forget her past than revisit it. When her estranged father dies, she flies home expecting to sign some paperwork and leave again. Instead she discovers two surprises: he’d given up accounting to run a scruffy private detective agency, and he’d secretly fathered a teenage daughter named Baby.

2 Sisters Murder Investigations sees the duo take on a loner whose glamorous wife has gone missing. The media, the police and even some of the couple’s friends are quick to assume he killed her, and hiring the Birds makes him look either very brave or very foolish. As Rhonda and Baby sift through conflicting stories, hidden affairs and a tangle of online personas, they have to work out whether they’re defending an innocent misfit or helping a murderer walk free.

Across the series, the heart of the books is the relationship between the sisters. They bicker constantly, clash over tactics and life choices, and yet keep showing up for each other when it counts. Their banter adds humour to plots that otherwise deal with kidnapping, corruption and cold-blooded violence.
