FAQ

  • What is considered the best comic book ever?

Sigh... This is a difficult question to answer, as there are so many great comic books out there. However, some people might say that the best graphic novel in comic book history is "The Watchmen" (no wonder it made it to the top of our list!). This was a groundbreaking comic book when it was published in the late 1980s, and its influence can still be seen today.

  • What makes great comic books or comic book series?

There are many ways to judge a great comic book. Some people might say that it has to be well-written, with interesting and complex characters. Others might argue that good artwork is key, and that it should be visually stunning. It could also be argued that it should have a great story, and that it should be able to transport the reader to another world. Ultimately, this is subjective and it varies from person to person.

  • How many comics are on this list?

There are 68 comics on this list. However, this does not include entire comic book series. For example, if you were to add up every issue of "The Watchmen" series, that would be 12 comics. If you were to add up every issue of "The Walking Dead" series, that would be 193 comics. So, the total number of comics on this list varies depending on how you count them.

  • How is this different from a list of top comics ever sold?

This list is different from a list of the top comics ever sold, because it's created based on rankings and reviews (via top websites). This means that smaller, independent good comics from around the world have a fighting chance (unlike if this list was based purely on sales). We like a good story from Marvel and DC Comics as much as anyone, but our policy was not play the "who made more money" game.

  • What are the best comics for beginners?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as everyone has different preferences. But we live in a world where Marvel comics publisher dominates the movie box office. So you'll proooobably find something you like inside the pages of "Marvels" (#9), "X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills" (#11), "Black Panther" (#37), "Hawkeye" (#49), "Vision" (#61), "Astonishing X Men" (#64), and "Ms. Marvel" (#66). If you're more of a DC Comics fan, you'll like Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman comics.

  • Which comics are based on series?

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Doctor Who," "Star Trek," and "Thunderbirds" are all based on series. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a comic book series based on the tv series of the same name. Doctor Who is a comic book series that is based on the long-running British tv show. Star Trek is a comic book series that is based on the popular (and super cool!) science fiction franchise. And Thunderbirds is a comic book series that is based on the 1960s British television show.
